Westin Appoints Ron Booth as Vice President East Region
RANCHO CORDOVA, CALIF. – Westin Engineering, Inc. has named Ronald Booth, Ph.D., Vice President of the East Region where he will be responsible for delivering engineering and consulting services to water and wastewater agencies.
As a leader in the water and wastewater industry, Mr. Booth is a published author and speaker on topics such technology’s role in improved customer service, information and physical security, business continuity, and utilizing GIS to manage infrastructure. Mr. Booth is formerly a Vice President and Director at CH2M HILL.

Mr. Booth has written numerous articles and white papers related to water industry issues. His influence is apparent in the AWWA Journal and AWWA’s Opflow as well as in presentations at AWWA’s Annual Conference (ACE) and WEFTEC. He has also participated as a panelist with the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Emergency Management. Ron is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and a Licensed Risk Assessment Methodology (RAM-W) Instructor.
Mr. Booth’s experience encompasses strategic planning, information system planning, security, project and program management. Throughout his 28 years of public sector and utility service he has been directly engaged in managing computer and information systems, customer information systems, and asset management systems. He has directed projects involving automatic meter reading, Web-based program management, cyber security, physical security, information systems integration, software engineering, and computer and communications security. He has designed and implemented a variety of information systems in large-scale Web-based and client/server arenas with a major focus in water, reclaimed water, security, and emergency management.
Ron holds both a Ph.D. in Information Systems and an M.S. degree in Computer Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University.
Prior to entering the water industry, Mr. Booth served 6 years in the U.S. Army, active service as a First Lieutenant. He then served 14 years with the U.S. Army Reserves, retiring as Captain. He subsequently worked for Westinghouse at the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Nuclear Weapons site where he focused on safeguards, security and emergency response programs as well as large scale information systems management.
