Staff Engineer - West Region

The Staff Engineer will design and program Control Systems for the Water and Wastewater market. The projects may involve multiple applications including SCADA, plants controls, telecommunications networks, hydraulic modeling, and related systems. The Staff Engineer must be able to prepare P&IDs, process control narratives, instrument lists and I/O lists as part of project design. Project design also includes preparation of specifications and associated bid documents including cost estimates, schedules, and transition plans.

Job Responsibilities

• Conceptual design, system layout and cost estimating
• Preparation of P&IDs, construction drawings, and specifications
• Developing Static Control System Graphics for client review
• Programming Continuous and Discrete Control System Logic in Ladder and/or Function Block as appropriate
• Linking Graphics to PLC code and programming typically in VB or script to achieve specified GUI functionality
• Perform integration, witness testing, on site loop testing, startup, tuning, logic debug, turnover and as-built record production
  

Job Requirements

• 5+ years experience SCADA design in a water/wastewater engineering consulting environment
• SCADA application configuration
  • Data management
  • PLC configuration
• Create P&IDs (Process & Instrumentation Diagrams)
• Bid package preparation (specifications and engineering drawings)
• SCADA networks design/configuration
• Electrical Design
• E.I.T. Certification or Registered California Professional Engineer (P.E.) License a plus
• B.S. in Engineering or related field, advanced education degree a plus
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear and concise manner
