ASSOCIATE / STAFF ENGINEER

The Associate / Staff Engineer will prepare designs for capital improvement projects for clients in the water and wastewater market. The projects may involve multiple applications including SCADA, plant/process controls, telecommunications networks, hydraulic modeling, and related systems. The Staff Engineer must be able to prepare P&IDs, process control narratives, instrument lists and I/O lists as part of project design. Project design also includes preparation of specifications and associated bid documents including cost estimates, schedules, and transition plans.
Job Responsibilities
- Support Program/Project design for complex capital improvement projects.
- Participate in full life-cycle SCADA design: preliminary, detail and commissioning
- Design, program, test and commission SCADA software, including PLC, HMI and other related software
- Assist in maintaining Westin project performance and delivery while satisfying customer expectations
- Comply with Westin and client Quality Standards
- Cooperate with Project Manager to meet Project Objectives
Job Requirements
- 0-3 (Associate) / 3-5 (Staff) years experience SCADA design in a water/wastewater engineering consulting environment, utilities, public sector agencies or complimentary industry such as process, oil & gas, etc. for technology related projects
- Demonstrated experience with the following aspects of design projects:

- Managing client expectations and service delivery
- Project Planning and Control
- Working with established project management and design methodologies
- Create P&IDs (Process & Instrumentation Diagrams)
- Bid package preparation (specifications and engineering drawings)
- SCADA networks design/configuration
- Demonstrated experience in PLC and HMI programming
- Low voltage electrical design
- Demonstrated AutoCAD skills
- Ability to travel: frequent day travel required, occasional overnight travel for project commissioning
- B.S. in Engineering or related field required (advanced education degree a plus)
- E.I.T. Certification or Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) License (or in process) required
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office products
