The Engineering Practice Manager - Northern CA responsibilities include operational and business development as listed below for I&C (instrumentation and control), DCS (distributed control systems) and SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) systems. Lead teams providing design, configuration, and construction phase services for a variety of systems as related to technology solutions for the water and wastewater industries.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversight of multiple delivery teams, a geographic territory and a practice service line
  • Manage all necessary activities for successfully developing and managing client relationships for existing and prospective accounts
  • Project planning, scope management, project change control, schedule and budget management, risk and issue management, communications management and quality management
  • Responsible for proposal preparation, pricing, scope review, support and QA/QC
  • Recruit, mentor and train staff including Project Managers
  • Responsible for executing engineering projects within budget, schedule, and meeting customer expectations for quality
  • Ability to be viewed as our clients trusted advisor as related to technology
  • Represent the company as an industry thought leader through various professional associations

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have a 10- 15 years plus years of experience in I&C consulting , DCS & SCADA design and configuration, project management, and business development

Specific experience should include:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a water/wastewater consulting environment
  • Experience working with PLCs (Modicon, GE, Allen-Bradley and similar) and HMI software (Wonderware, Intellution, Citech and similar)
  • Demonstrable track record of identifying, leading, and closing sales opportunities throughout the entire sales cycle
  • Experience designing instrumentation and process control systems
  • Experience working with electrical schematics, one-lines, panel and cable schedules
  • Knowledge of communications and networking an advantage
  • Experience as a project manager and with supervising design staff
  • BS Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Certification as a Registered Professional Engineer, and or Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) a plus
