Westin Engineering is currently recruiting for the position of Staff Engineer to work in our Toronto, Ontario office. The Staff Engineer will be involved with the design of control and SCADA systems and programming PLCs/HMIs for the water and wastewater industry.

Job Responsibilities

• Program, test and commission PLCs/ HMIs
• Review vendor submitted design documents and assist in the preparation of P&IDs, construction drawings and specifications
• Support design and construction projects by performing site visits to gain knowledge of facilities and processes and monitor contactor activity
  
  

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will possess a BS degree or equivalent and have 3-5 years of experience in I&C consulting and SCADA design and configuration.

• Specific experience should include:
  • Minimum of 3 years in the design of SCADA systems
  • Working with PLCs (Modicon, GE, Allen-Bradley and similar) and HMI software (Wonderware, Intellution, RSView and similar)
  • Designing instrumentation and process control systems
• Knowledge of communications and networking an advantage
• Microsoft operating systems
• Visual Basic programming language
• Excel, Access, SQL, Oracle and/or ODBC databases
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD
